My fiance and I recently moved to Ocean Beach from Pacific Beach and shacking up is really helping us save money for the wedding. Our new place is also very small so we had to sell some stuff and buy a few new items to maximize our space with storage.

Overall, we put out $40 for having to buy new furniture. That's not bad. I sold some stuff so we used that money to buy what we really need. Here's our spreadsheet:

Sold
Bought
Item Amount Item  Amount
Monitor $15 Computer table $55
Speakers $5 Pub Table $20
Ottoman $15 Shelving Unit $5
Bike $45
Armoir
$40
Total $80 Total $120

Moving Expense Difference $40

New change! I sold a monitor over the weekend (June 16) for $10 and the fan for $8 on June 18 so the moving expense is now $22.

I really suggest living in Ocean Beach because you get the real local feel of a beach town plus the tourists don't stay very long because it's not full of hotels so they don't have place to stay. It's also a tad bit cheaper (rent) than PB. However, parking can be really hard so that's the big downfall.
