Ocean Beach has many skateboarders roaming around the area. There is a big skate park (the only one in San Diego) and when there are special events, you'll see them in the parking lot near the beach.

I was introduced to Candy Crush by a coworker via Facebook and now I cannot stop playing on it. I play everyday. What is worse is if I use all of my 5 lives, I need to wait a half hour (30 min) for another life. You only get up to 5 and then the timer restarts after you use your first life in that group. Half an hour is a long wait! I am so tempted to actually use money to purchase my next tries so I don't have to wait so long. Do you think it's worth it?

I've been starting my treadmill work out for a month and a half now and I'm typically on the treadmill between 1-3 times a week. Even though I am doing this more regularly, versus doing nothing before, I still get so out of breath and want to quit just after 3 minutes on the clock. But of course, I don't quit and then I wonder how the heck did I get this far?

I guess they don't call it a "work out" for nothing. You really do work! I can see why so many quit after working out for just a month....

Lately, it seems like the newer TV series are getting more gory and violent. We have been following "The Walking Dead" shows and I've never seen so many stabs in the head in my life! They make it look so easy. It started to make me think that maybe it's good to have a handy knife around in case I need to save to my life. When I first started running on the treadmill, I started swelling a lot. At first I was scared that maybe I had a health condition that I didn't know about but then I realized it's because my heart is pumping the hardest it ever has in the last 5 years. And this hard pumping causes your body to swell.

As I was driving to work early today, I felt so at peace with Ocean Beach's quiet streets. As I watched pet owners walking their dogs in the morning, it made me feel so proud to live here.

Residents who live here look more fit and are such great dog lovers like we are. It made me feel like we belong where we are.

We went fishing on the Ocean Beach Pier earlier this week and had a very successful night. My husband caught a leopard shark, sting ray and a croaker fish. I caught one croaker fish as well.

We picked up a new hobby after we moved to OB. It's fishing! We found out that you don't need a fishing license to fish on the pier so we bought a couple of fishing hooks and met with our buddy who is the expert in fishing. On our first trip, we caught a leopard shark and my husband's friends caught a sting ray and guitar fish. See the picture of the guitar fish below.

Did you know you needed a license in order to get a certificate, which signifies you're married? There's a process you need to go through in order to make it official. The Ocean Beach Chili Cook Off took place over the weekend and the day was beautiful. There were 28 on our list but many cancelled or ran out of chili early. I personally voted for #17 which had venison in their chili.



We got to the line early at 10AM. Here were the prices. We both got the master tasters to try all of the chilis.


At 10AM, vendors were just starting to set up. It was a wonderful day.

I don't work today because it's Saturday so I took our chow chow to the dog park in Ocean Beach. He got tired after 20 minutes of playing with other dogs. It's another June Gloom day and as I was driving home from work I see the banner about the Chili Cook-Off taking place in a couple of weeks on June 23, 2012. It is one of the biggest events in OB. Even though it was a gloomy day, seeing this sign cheered me up. You get to be the judge of who makes the best chili while listening to bands play on 6 different stages. My fiance and I recently moved to Ocean Beach from Pacific Beach and shacking up is really helping us save money for the wedding. Our new place is also very small so we had to sell some stuff and buy a few new items to maximize our space with storage.

Overall, we put out $40 for having to buy new furniture. That's not bad. I sold some stuff so we used that money to buy what we really need. Here's our spreadsheet:

Yesterday, my fiance and I walked down to the Sunset Cliffs (in OB) after a salmon dinner I cooked at home. Even though it's June Gloom, the view is still spectacular. A lot of couples sat on the cliffs to have a conversation. It was really romantic. One thing to note is when you walk down the steps from Narragansett Ave., watch out for the waves and time it right because you can really get splashed!
