Ocean Beach is the authentic casual beach town in San Diego. It's the real So Cal beach town.

On Newport Ave. in Ocean Beach, you'll see a line of Palm Trees on either side of the side walk. It's so refreshing to look up and see these majestic trees sending you some nice breeze.

About Ocean Beach (OB)

With local restaurants filled with personalized style, you don't find many fast foods or franchises here.  Each restaurant has a real owner or is family-owned and you'll find real Southern California residents being your servers and bartenders. Tatted up with Southern California lingo, you don't want to leave San Diego without coming to OB.

You won't find a McDonald's here but what you will find is awesome real food and a great casual surf and beach culture.

Go fishing on the OB Pier! You don't need to have a fishing license if you're on the pier. See details on our fishing adventure on the OB pier.

Ocean Beach Town Culture

(Picture below is the view of the Ocean Beach pier from standing on Sunset Cliffs during a June Gloom day in 2012)

With the only public skate park and dog beach in San Diego, Ocean Beach is not only unique but very wholesome. Mom and pop restaurants, antique stores and beach bums fill the streets of Newport Ave. and Bacon St. When you visit OB, you'll learn quickly that this beach sets itself apart from every other beach town in San Diego.

Ocean Beach is remarkably very pet-friendly. Many restaurants allow pets to stay with their owners when dining at the patio. You'll also noticed that many residents walk around the area with their pets. The largest dog park in San Diego and the only dog beach is also located in Ocean Beach, which makes this beach town very unique in many ways.
